DomainValidated (DV)
The authenticity of a domain. This is checked using an automated procedure
OrganisationValidated (OV)
The authenticity of the certificate holder. This is checked via an extract from the commercial register and a contact (e.g. telephone call).
ExtendedValidated (EV)
The authenticity of the certificate holder (generates a green address bar in the browser). This is checked via an extract from the commercial register and other active searches by the certification authority (CA).
